Don’t cheat. Do you know how many countries there are in the world?
From my experience of going to public and private, I'd say that I enjoy my independence in a public school much more then in a private. When I was in a private school it was limited to only rich students who didn't sympathize with the poor (and ignored it to some extent). It was more about status and socializing (keeping good grades and upgrading your electronics e.g. ipods and such) that we loss our insight on the things we should really be doing. I never had the time to think about whom I was as a person and what I wanted when I was in a private institution for education. I was always busy with work and mindlessly following a path sent up by the principle or the higher ups.
With public, from my experience once again, I didn't have a path to follow but the teachers weren't as good at teaching then in private. But this also gave me well deserved time to think about who I was and what I wanted to be. I did socialize less but that was due to my personality and I also believe that the students are just as hard working as in the private (because I judged them on an individual bases).
But as many have stated, private and publics schools vary in Europe, America and everywhere else in the world. It is a difficult topic to judge but also an interesting one none the less.
I hope I have made some sort of an impression :)
