How do you feel about public versus private schooling?

From my experience of going to public and private, I'd say that I enjoy my independence in a public school much more then in a private. When I was in a private school it was limited to only rich students who didn't sympathize with the poor (and ignored it to some extent). It was more about status and socializing (keeping good grades and upgrading your electronics e.g. ipods and such) that we loss our insight on the things we should really be doing. I never had the time to think about whom I was as a person and what I wanted when I was in a private institution for education. I was always busy with work and mindlessly following a path sent up by the principle or the higher ups.
With public, from my experience once again, I didn't have a path to follow but the teachers weren't as good at teaching then in private. But this also gave me well deserved time to think about who I was and what I wanted to be. I did socialize less but that was due to my personality and I also believe that the students are just as hard working as in the private (because I judged them on an individual bases).
But as many have stated, private and publics schools vary in Europe, America and everywhere else in the world. It is a difficult topic to judge but also an interesting one none the less.

I hope I have made some sort of an impression :)

Recently I have been getting into games. Its been a long time since I have played any games but lately I have found an urge to play. I remember the first games that I played when I was a kid, Grim Fandango (Lucas Art proves to human beings that art can exist in games)and Monkey Island. Both  games I have never been able to finish but I still love and cherish the time I have spent on it. At that time  I also remember not spending as much time as I do on the Internet. Strange how times have changed. Another hobby that I have found myself doing is watching walkthroughs of games that I won't ever buy. Games like Resident Evil and Silent Hill have brought visually stimulating scenery and a powerful plot to support it (More on the silent hill side though...). Resident Evil harbors beautifully timed cut scenes and Silent Hill brings out, what I call, the perfect story. But then again I do like horror more then romance. Maybe I just like angst... Anyway

This picture is a screen cap from the game 'Silent Hill: The Room'. I remember the first 5 minutes that I played this game, then freaked out and then gave up.

On a brighter note I found this clip on YouTube (for those who haven't seen): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=t-3qncy5Qfk (POWERTHIRST RE-DOMINATION)

And this...

Free Time
[info]snake68
Since I have so much time, I did this very interesting Art quiz today.

"The Garden of Earthly Delight" by Hieronymus Bosch in the 1504 is a very interesting painting that made many scholars and historians unsure of the 'story' that is being conveyed within the image. This painting shows a rich garden that contains many nude men and women, large birds and fruits. Many scholars believe that this painting depicts the history of the world and the progession of sin.
Another interesting fact is that many of the instruments that were drawn in Hieronymus Bosch's oil painting were both musical instruments and torture instruments.

More Movies~
[info]snake68

I'm really crazy today~ Seriously I love movies (they teach us so much and inspire us to do more). This movie I also recommend for those who love to watch kidnapping-stories. Although this has been going around for over a year I don't know why but I still love it. I love assasin/kidnapping/murder stories (that's probably why I fell in love with Hitman, the game) and this story does reach my level of interest. I'm not a movie expert but I really love movies and I'm probably ranting about movies a lot right now because the Oscar is TOMORROW!!

Side Note~

Will Smith I love you in 7 Pounds~!

OSCAR~~
[info]snake68

Has anybody seen it!

YAY!!! The Oscar is tomorrow~ I'm soooo excited but am I the only one?? I'm totally rooting for Slumdog Millionaire this year. It was a great film and I recommend it to anybody who loves romance, adventure, and our mumbia slumdog. I was very impressed with this film in particular because 1. they actually did use children from the slum area of Mumbia and are also funding them for their future lives (which is great), and 2. I really loved the music and scene where Latika gets caught but the henchmen. This film was truly an adventure and loved every minute of it~ ;D

And did I mention The Reader!!! This film was epic-success-ation, If you love romance/love story/depression then I truly recommend this for the heart-YO! This film is not for the faint heart, and I really admire the director for creating a German view of the Holocaust (however I understand that it is hard to forgive the Nazi for killing so many innocent civilians). Kate Winslet will totally own this year!

Funny Clip~
[info]snake68
I'm sure that many people have seen this clip but if you haven't you should~

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1uwOL4rB-go

It is hilarious with a view count of 81 million!
It's about a terrorist named Achmed who is obviously dead (due to fact that we see him as a skeleton). He is a puppet and a very good sense of humor sort of speak.
